KENGO KUMA

Kengo Kuma blends architecture and nature where one finds a rich and firm link between the building and the “place” it stands. To achieve this goal, locally sourced materials are used in each “place” such as wood, stone or paper, retrieving warmth and tenderness to the architecture. For further fusion between architecture and its surrounding environment, great importance is attached in the design to unite landscape and architecture, bearing in mind that their harmony would resonate throughout the buildings details, interior, furniture and accessories. Kengo Kuma is convinced that only such close relations between the “place” and the building can create an architecture that its residents or users love and feel comfortable with.
