Casa A

Casa A

Inspiration

Casa A explores an array of novel material enclosure tests which cooperate through a common structure to generate a prefabricated prototypical dwelling. The project exemplifies two parallel veins of design research, which operate as a common whole.

Casa A uses industry standards in affordable fabrication to develop a structural system upon which custom material enclosure elements can be attached. The cladding works to expand the palette of unexplored material assemblies applicable to architectural enclosure.

The result is a highly versatile architectural transformer, utilizing the spatial flexibility of its construction to generate a range of tectonic and atmospheric conditions. Through the integration of prefabricated construction systems, with unique prototypical material studies, Casa A foregrounds a playful synthesis of standard and custom design systems instrumental to an adaptable architecture.
